Welding Inspector

Heading is recruiting a Welding Inspector, to be based in Inhambane, Mozambique.

Duties

• The incumbent will be responsible for Inspections and test welded joints of work in progress and of completed units for visible defects, correct dimensions, joint strength, bead formation, weld penetration, and conformance with layout, blueprint and work order specifications, applying knowledge of welding principles and metallurgical properties: Examines joint to detect flaws, such as cracks, cold weld, spatter, and undercuts, using flashlight and magnifying glass
• Performs stress test on joint, using stress testing equipment or prepares sample for stress testing, and review results
• HSSE conscious, implement, and maintain an appropriate, structured system for the filing and retrieval of records
• Coordinate with the Main Office and Contractor on all issues

Requisites

• Relevant degree or diploma holder
• 2 to 6 years of experience in similar position
• Experience in Construction, Oil &Gas, or Power, would be an advantage
• Experience coordinating welding inspections in accordance with national/international & Company specifications
• Inspection of instruments, and calibration records
• Good communications skills both in Portuguese and English
