Aldelia is recruiting a Well Delivery SHE Superintendent (m/f),to be based in Temane, Mozambique.
Duties
Management
- Support implementation of WD SHE Management Strategy, plans, procedures, practices and for global WD campaigns
- Support High Severity Incident (HSI) Reduction program, ensure implementation, tracking and reporting
- Define SHE Game Plan, ensure implementation, tracking and reporting
- Ensure bow ties are customized, and the assurance is provided on all critical controls and other applicable elements of the HSI program
- Perform overall contractor management, actively managing output in accordance to standards, requirements, gate deliverables and assurance
- Drive risk reduction and control high risk activities on a daily basis
- Support WD emergency response plans implementation
- Ensures SHE goals and priorities for WD are fully aligned with corporate ones
- Support, implement and maintain approved Business Unit specific risk programs
- Ensure an exemplary S&H culture as well as a strong focus on environment throughout the organization
- Oversees and monitors the effectiveness and quality of QA/SHE programs in achieving – goals and standards; provides summaries of program effectiveness and maturity
- Assists the Well Delivery SHE Manager in the fulfillment of required QA and SHE mandates & objectives
- Implements, prioritizes, key performance measures for the WD field activities
- Supervises/Mentors field Well site personnel in operating to given company standards
- Co-ordinates with functional SHE discipline experts on Safety, Health,
Environmental and Security to ensure support is managed within specific Well Delivery Process project timelines
- Oversee lifting & handling operations
- Participate in site activity planning & co-ordination meetings
QA/HSE
- Enhance & encourage the concept of management by walking around and interacting
- Facilitates the incident notification, investigation and reporting process for wells projects
- Leads incident investigations involving assets and/or people for wells projects
- Facilitates the continuous process improvement system within the Well Delivery Mozambique field areas/PSA/Area A onshore only; tracks and reports results
- Reviews procedures before implementation to verify compliance with local regulations and Company Policies
- Monitors third party contractor performance
- Reviews project specific ERP’s, BOCP’s etc in coordination with 3rd party providers
- Assist the company's Senior Well-Site Senior Supervisor to ensure rig supervisory staff is knowledgeable of the Blowout Contingency Plan, Oil Spill Contingency Plan & MEDEVAC plans. Environmental Plan (EIA)
- Actively conduct Safety meetings and update or assists in writing? Safety alerts accordingly
- Carry out daily Safety STOP/PTW Audits mentor crews in this process via Hazard Hunts
Audits and Inspections
- Participate in hazard studies & risk assessments for the safe execution of program operations
- Assists in scheduling audits and inspections of - rigs, camp sites and operational support locations
- Audits adherence to established policies, processes, and procedures, and determines corrective and preventive actions for compliance
- Tracks till closure corrective actions identified on audits and inspections
- Tracks non-conformance’s found in rig audits; analyses causes
- Maintain an up to date downgraded situations register
QA/SHE Training
- Coordinates and conducts rig-based QA, SHE, and emergency response readiness training and exercise activities
- Reviews training materials/database to ensure suitability to well site operation
- Reviews training matrix documentation records for all Well Delivery operations contractor personnel
- Oversees training/coaching of Well site QA/SHE Advisors
Other
- Supports the administration of the corporate Well Control and Oil Spill Response contracts
- Maintains knowledge of and complies with applicable international and local regulations; verifies QA/SHE policies, programs, and activities comply
- Coaches and mentors the company's junior staff/personnel in Drilling SHE duties
- Supports review and uptake of new OGP Guidelines and the company's SHE performance metrics reporting
- Performs other tasks as assigned by the Regional SHE Manager, Senior SHE Manager and Regional Operations Manager
- Reviews method statements and procedures for Civil and construction ground works on well pads, roadways and deep excavation works
- Supervise and control CSE procedures at the Rig and construction areas when required
- Coordinates work at the Top hole sites,which includes but is not limited to CSE, Lifting and Hot work
- Supports the well testing team in remote locations, reviews all the documentation which includes MS/RA and procedures ensuring a safe working environment at all times
- Ensure all lifting activities comply with LOLER and PUWER regulations and W@H procedures
Requisites
- Must possess an in-depth understanding of multinational work forces, and the ability to observe/ manage human & environmental risks associated with drilling, completion, production, civils and construction
- Must understand, interpret, and implement applicable regulations within regulatory jurisdictions
- Must be able to problem solve
- Must be a self-motivator and work without close supervision
- Must be able to prioritize jobs and work under tight time constraints
- Must have excellent computer skills
- Appropriate qualification – Minimum NEBOSH Certificate
- Must have a minimum 7 to 10 years’ experience with an operator in regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and safety management, or equivalent combination of education and/or relevant military experience
- Working experience with an international drilling contractor preferred
- Working experience with exploration operations in remote locations onshore and offshore
- Working experience in Africa
- Professional Health & Safety accreditation – LOLER certification
- Proven mentoring of 3rd party personnel
- Must be proficient in English
- Proficiency in Portuguese advantageous
- Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills
