BHP Billiton is seeking an Accountant (Ref. MF0052), to be based in Boane.
Duties
- You will be responsible to participate in the day to day financial accounting and reporting tasks by recording and classifying financial accounting transactions in accordance with IFRS
- VAT/Tax reconciliations and submissions
- General ledger and account maintenance and reconciliations; Internal and external audit reviews
- SOX internal control evaluation and stakeholder (shareholder and commercial lender banks) administration
- Successfully deliver Mozal's reporting requirements that includes BHP Billiton group reporting
- Briefing papers
- Stewardship review
- Board and other committee packs, as well as participate in ad-hoc improvement projects using BHP Billiton improvement methodology
- Ensure adherence and compliance with all regulations, procedures and initiate corrective actions where necessary
- Create/maintain external financial relationships
- Communicate and report to stakeholders
- Facilitate health, safety, environment, quality and housekeeping in your area
- The purpose of this role is to maintain the quality of reporting and achieve set targets related to the relevant 1SAP Finance processes, frameworks and guidelines
Requisites
- Serious contenders will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or an ACCA equivalent qualification
- Minimum 3 years business and accounting experience
- Knowledge/experience of SAP systems makes you a great fit
