- The U.S. Mission in Maputo/Mozambique is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Facility Manager/Building Engineer Supervisor
Duties
- Under the supervision of the Facility Manager, the Assistant Facility Manager / Building Engineer Supervisor (AFM) leads a team of skilled tradespersons responsible for maintaining all of the New Embassy Campus (NEC) operating systems. Included among these are the Mechanical and Electrical Systems, Building Automation System (BAS), Chiller Plant, Air Handling Units, VAV System, Potable Water, Sanitary Sewage, Storm Sewage, Oil Water Separator Systems, Fuel Delivery, Distribution, and Fuel Monitoring Systems, and the Fire Alarm and Fire Suppression Systems; Electrical Power Generation and Distribution Systems; Voltage Regulators; Transformers; Switchgear; Panel boards, Automatic Transfer Switches; Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) motors and controllers; and Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) Systems. Additional responsibilities include supervision of the custodial and grounds maintenance staff and overseeing an aggressive recycling and energy conservation program and maintaining the Warehouse and 100 ICASS Housing Pool Residences
- The AFM leads a section of seventy-seven (77) employees, of which directly supervises seven (7). The team is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and general appearance of the 41,000 sqm New Embassy Campus. The staff consists of supervisors and skilled trades technicians. The position collaborates with his/her team and the Facility Manager (FM) in setting priorities and developing and executing a robust maintenance and repair plan. Is directly involved in the yearly planning and budgeting for this large operation. The incumbent reports directly to the FM and is a critical member of the team
- Serves as the principal authority and technical advisor on all facility operations, maintenance, repair, and minor construction portfolio of U.S. government-owned, short term, and long term leased properties. Manages and supervises the operation and maintenance program for all facilities to include developing budgets, producing assessment reports and contract scopes of work for repair, improvement, or renovation projects. Incumbent serves as an incidental operator of official vehicles and meets all requirements outlined in 14 FAM 433
