Automation Engineer

Twigg Exploration & Mining is recruiting a Automation Engineer, to be based in Balama, Mozambique.

Duties

• Support the project with technical planning expertise and asset management system development and design during the construction and commissioning phases to ensure critical automation considerations are met
• Work closely with the Maintenance Engineering Team to achieve the KPIs for plant availability and costs
• Contribute to the development of the preventative asset and maintenance strategy in line with company objectives
• Monitor both process plant asset and maintenance performance metrics and proactively identify areas for improvement
• Provide ongoing reporting and data analysis in relation to the condition of the processing facility
• Contribute to the weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly planning process
• Actively contribute to the budgeting process as a part of the Maintenance
• Engineering Team in relation to Project work, parts, consumables and engineering costs
• Ensure the Engineering Team is established and supports the Operation by: Continually monitor the condition of the plant and readily address all issues
• Ensure that all process critical automated equipment and instrumentation is prioritised for maintenance
• Assist in the management of the spares required under the Automation banner as per the company guidelines
• Assist in the management and implementation of the Planned Shutdown

Requisites

• Degree in Engineering
• 5 + years automation engineering experience in mineral industry
• Ability to read and understand Electrical Line and Engineering Drawings
• Experience in developing and implementing Process Improvement projects highly desirable
• Proven exposure to maintenance systems and processes -   experience highly desirable
• Plant start-up and commissioning experience highly desirable
• Demonstrated knowledge of process plant automated control systems, PLC’s, HMI’s and code writing etc
