Bio-Statistician

US Embassy is recruiting a Bio-Statistician, to be based in Maputo.

Duties

• The incumbent provides support to CDC Mozambique physicians, epidemiologists, program specialists and other professional staff collaborating on CDC-supported operational research projects
• Support includes participation in the development of and/or review of operational research studies, the application of appropriate statistical methods to the analysis of research data, the statistical investigation of issues related to research projects, and the implementation of statistical software applications to analyze surveillance data for HIV/AIDS and related diseases

Requisites

• Graduation from an accredited university with a bachelor’s level degree in statistics, biostatistics, data management, or a related field
• At least five years progressively responsible statistics experience in public health or related fields is required
• Level III English (fluency, reading/speaking/writing is required). Level IV Portuguese (good working knowledge, reading/speaking/writing is required)
