CONTACT is recruiting a Chied Financial Officer, to be based in Maputo, Moçambique.
Duties
- Reporting to the CEO, you will be responsible for driving financial strategy and streamlining the Group's financial operations. Will provide strategic financial guidance to senior management while managing the financial operations and corporate finance of each division within various groups
- Specific tasks include: develop, implement and maintain a comprehensive financial strategy across all business units; direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance and Accounting functions of the organization
- Oversee financial operations and sub-departments, including budgeting, forecasting and establishing and enforcing internal control systems for each division
- Ensure risk management of the organization
- Work closely with the CEO, providing strategic recommendations, financial analysis and profitability assessments
- Manage company funds, anticipate and mitigate financial risks and ensure maximum ROI
- Comply and keep abreast of regulations governing financial operations for Mozambique
- Establish and maintain relationships with financial institutions and all other financial stakeholders
- Manage specific cost accounting requirements for cost and profit centers
- Maintain an overview of the costing (cost accounting) of all products, whether purchased or manufactured by the Group
- Assess the financial performance and contribution of each business division to the overall performance of the company
- Facilitate effective and transparent interdepartmental communication
- Oversee the recruitment and dismissal process of personnel in the respective division
- Lead and develop the finance team, promoting its growth and enhancing its performance
Requisites
- Higher education in Accounting, Finance or related field
- 3 to 5 years of experience working as a CFO or relevant role in the retail sector is considerable
- Experience in corporate finance and risk management
- Knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws and best practices
- Solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting
- Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software
- Experience with Kerridge ERP system or an equivalent ERP system is required
- Solid knowledge of Portuguese and English, spoken and written
- Leadership and good communication skills
