ADPP is recruiting a Chief of Party, to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.
Duties
- The Community-Based HIV Services in the Southern Region Program will contribute to achieving epidemic control in Mozambique by reaching people living with HIV (PLHIV) through strategic community interventions
- The enhancement and improvement in HIV treatment, nutrition, general health outcomes, and livelihoods of PLHIV, including children, women and families in Maputo, Gaza, and Inhambane are the overall objectives of the Program
- The position will be filled, contingent on funding
Develop and implement a comprehensive program management and implementation plan
- Provide technical leadership and financial and managerial oversight
- Propose and implement an effective staffing structure
- Propose and carry out well-coordinated communications structures, including timely reporting
- Ensure award and donor compliance
- Verify adequate use of resources
- Establish and monitor corrective measures
Requisites
- Degree in Health, Public Health, or a related advanced degree
- Experience in the implementation of Development, Health, HIV-related programs, including a minimum of 5 years of experience working with HIV programs
- A minimum of 10 years in health project management of similar projects in Mozambique or other developing nations
- Demonstrated capacity to lead and manage large aid agency funded projects. USAID project management highly desirable
- Proven skills and experience in management of similar programs and work in public health programs in developing nations
- Excellent communication skills, and the ability to work across technical disciplines and with cultural diverse teams. Ability to inspire and engage team members in an engaging and collaborative environment
- Flexibility and experience and willingness to work in fast-paced work environment
- Team player with strong leadership experience and diplomatic skills
- Fluency in English and Portuguese
