Civils Estimator

Global Edge is hiring for a client, a very well known company specializing in marine onshore and near shore projects, a dynamic Civils Estimator who has extensive experience in Mozambique and knowledge of local vendor suppliers, base rates and civils estimates. The role will be responsible to the Proposals Manager/ for the preparation and supervision of contract / tender estimates, pricing of change notices, scope changes and variations

Requisites

• Tertiary qualifications in construction, engineering or quantity surveying are desirable but not an absolute requirement
• Needs to be competent in current computer packages including Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project and/or primavera
• Exposure to estimating systems including CCS (Candy) a prerequisite
• Minimum 10 to 15 years experience in a senior estimating role within the heavy civil engineering sector (Marine Construction Preferred, not essential ) either on-site engineering / construction and estimating
• Ability to read and interpret specifications & drawings
• Good understanding of various forms of contract i.e. FIDIC and NEC
• Good problem solving ability is required as well as good negotiating skills
• Well developed interpersonal and communication skills as the role will require a lot of interaction with internal and external clients
