Fundação Clarisse Machanguana is recruiting a Community Engagement Officer, to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.
Descriptin
- This position is for 6 months, starting 16 April or as soon as possible after that. It is open to Mozambicans
- This is the next phase of our PEPFAR funded youth, HIV program, Saber é Viver (SEV) in Maputo City
- SEV is an Information, Education and Communication (IEC) campaign that works to rebrand HIV by promoting the importance of knowing your status and staying on antiretroviral treatment with a focus on adolescents
- This phase of the campaign continues in Maputo secondary schools and engaging with adolescents using SAAJ (Serviços Amigos dos Adolescentes e Jovens) health services
Duties
- The Community Engagement Officer will identify and activate community participation extending the reach of the SEV campaign
- S/he will support the design of the community and school curriculum and serve as the key individual in the implementation of campaign activities. In addition, this position will collaborate and inform the Communications Officer, integrating the programmatic approach to meet the primary objectives of the communications strategy
- Coordinate and lead the execution of community and school events
- Cultivate relationships with local officials, community leaders and influencers to ensure widespread support of campaign activities
- Support the design of communications tools and integrate programmatic concepts to ensure continuity between the two work streams
- Work closely with FCM stakeholders to gather contextual information as it relates to target audiences for participation
- Provide oversight and implementing support in the collection of campaign data to ensure accurate reporting of campaign activities
Requisites
- 3 years minimum experience in program support of social programs in Mozambique
- Experience of working with schools, clinics and organising community events
- Fluent verbal and written Portuguese and English
- Experience of HIV campaigns desirable
