m2m is recruiting a Consultant, to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.
Duties
- Build and maintain working relationships with project partners and key stakeholders
- Provide technical leadership and expertise on all aspects of the curriculum roll-out in line with MISAU strategic priorities
- Liaise with m2m staff to develop or adapt a results framework, M&E and other systems to support the rollout of the new protocols in Mozambique
- Liaise with relevant staff and stakeholders to adapt m2m training methods, activities, and key content for the curriculum based on local context
- Ensure peer review of key operational plans by key stakeholders, if necessary, and by relevant units or departments at m2m Head Office
- Identify and actively participate in key meetings, events, technical working groups and other fora that participate in decision-making surrounding HIV and RMNCAH issues in Mozambique
- Provide on-the-ground support for program set-up and initiation, including identifying key staff, partners, and implementers
Requisites
- Strong expertise in curriculum development, training of trainers, and operational management including 10 years of experience in the global health sector and familiarity with a broad range of RMNCAH programmes and service delivery in the public sector
- Knowledge of m2m programmes as well as community, lay health care systems is strongly desired.
- Experience coordinating and/or leading public health project design processes in resource limited settings
- Experience in PMTCT/RMNCAH programming, guidelines, and policies in Mozambique
- Fluency in English and Portuguese
- Ability to travel regionally
- Highly effective and versatile communication skills (English and Portuguese) - both written and oral, with the ability to listen effectively and synthesize key points for a variety of audiences.
- Ability to hold high-level technical conversations related to HIV, PMTCT, and RMNCAH in Portuguese
- Strong design and conceptualisation skills – able to think creatively and systematically at all project levels (goal, objectives, activities, inputs)
- Able to build and maintain diverse relationships, be culturally sensitive, and maintain a respectful demeanour in context of working within the international development sector
- Ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
- Self-starter, team player and results-orientated
