Cardno Emerging Markets USA, Ltd. (Cardno) is currently seeking a Community Engagement Specialist for an upcoming USAID-funded Coastal City Adaptation Program (CCAP). CCAP is designed to increase urban coastal resiliency to climate change by incorporating climate change into their planning processes and undertaking adaptive measures in response to capacity building activities, performance-based incentives and public advocacy in targeted municipalities.
Duties
- Play a lead role in the design and implementation of program management tasks (i.e., budgeting, monitoring and evaluation, and other reporting) related to municipal climate change adaptation capacity building, service delivery, and/or access to risk management and risk sharing tools, as well as technical program implementation
- Provide technical leadership for and overall supervision of field staff directly contracted by the program
Requisites
- Master’s Degree in urban planning, natural resources management, environmental studies, civil engineering, public administration or another relevant field or a Bachelor’s Degree and 5 additional years of experience in the above areas
- At least 5 years of experience in climate change adaptation, disaster risk reduction, or other relevant experience
- At least 7 years of experience working overseas
- Fluency in Portuguese and English required
