Project HOPE is recruiting a Deputy Chief of Party, to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.
Duties
- Provide direct technical oversight and support to project activities to the project's key technical areas
- Assist project teams to develop and implement innovative approaches to capacity building
- Support project staff to ensure a high quality transfer of skills and knowledge to Mozambican institutions and communities
- Provide guidance and technical support to the Chief of Party on issues related to the technical areas/functions and to ensure that all activities are consistent with accepted best practices
- Contribute to monthly activity updates, quarterly and annual progress reports and technical reports (as needed)
- Work closely with project managers to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach across all project activities
- Participate in international technical networks, meetings, and select technical working groups, as appropriate, to represent the project and ensure colloboration of relevant technical work
Requisites
- Graduate degree or higher in field of International Development, Economics, Statistics, Research Methods, Political Science, Public Policy, Social Science, or any other related field
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience working on donor-funded projects with a minimum of 6 years in support of USAID contracts
- Strong program management skills including the management of large, multi-partner projects
- Experience with malaria public health projects
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Portuguese
