Digital Transmitter Engineer

PRI is recruiting a Digital Transmitter Engineer, to be based in Maputo.

Duties

• High level technology operations knowledge
• Best practices for Terrestrial operations of broadcast equipment/ systems/ networks and Satellite systems
• In depth knowledge of DVB-H, DVB-T standards and digital modulation schemes
• Sound SFN knowledge
• Computer literacy including basic knowledge for IT Networking
• Knowledge of radio frequency (RF), including measurements, and able to use relevant RF test equipment
• Basic knowledge of project management
• Basic financial knowledge
• Pay TV Industry
• Report writing skills
• Psychomotor skills/capacity: handling of components, soldering, mechanical repair and installation
• Fluent in both English and Portuguese language (read and write)
• Regulatory Knowledge

Requisites

• B.Tech / National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (light current) or in Telecommunication or Electronics with minimum of 5 years applicable broadcast experience
• Registration with Engineering Body is highly recommended
• Driver’s license – Code…..(To be able to drive 4x4 vehicle and towing trailers)
• Extensive travel within the country and occasional to other countries
• Ability to work at heights above ground level. Masts and tower up to 300 meters
