PSI is recruiting a Director of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) (m/f), to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.
Description
- PSI seeks a Director of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) to manage reporting and research activities under an anticipated 5-year USAID-funded project with PSI Mozambique. The project anticipates supporting the increase of sustainable access to sanitation services in Mozambique, focusing on small towns and peri-urban areas. The overall strategic goal is to improve communities’ well-being, especially women and girls in Mozambique, by ensuring increased use and sustainable management of sanitation services via the two interrelated objectives: 1) Availability of water and sanitation services expanded; 2) Adoption of key WASH behaviors accelerated
Duties
- Oversee the monitoring and evaluation components of the project
- Develop monitoring, evaluation, and reporting systems that include appropriate indicators, baseline data, targets, and a plan to evaluate performance
- Develop a research agenda for the activity and ensure the methodological rigor of the research undertaken
- The Director of M&E will also oversee the development and submission of timely, accurate, and complete reporting
Requisites
- Master’s Degree or higher in Statistics, Evaluation, Public Health, International Development, Social Sciences, or relevant field
- A minimum of 8 years of experience with progressively increased responsibility working in monitoring and evaluation on public health programs in sub-Saharan Africa or other resource-limited settings, preferably Mozambique
- Must possess excellent management and communication skills
- Documented hands-on practical experience setting up and managing M&E systems for health programs in developing countries, including data quality assurance
- Demonstrated expertise in rigorous quantitative and qualitative research
Proven ability to produce professional-quality documents such as progress reports, case studies, and research protocols
- Experience developing results frameworks, logical frameworks, or similar tools for project design
- Experience using knowledge management software or database is highly desired
- Working knowledge of and experience with USG and USAID funded activity M&E, policies, and procedures
- Fluent in Portuguese and English (spoken and written)
- Strong preference for a citizen of Mozambique
