We seek qualified candidates for the position of Director, Strategic Information - Country Office/Technical in Mozambique.
Duties
- Provide leadership, direction and vision in the day to day operations, management and development of the Strategic Information (SI) unit in Mozambique, including guidance in analysis, using & dissemination of the data for program design, implementation and improvement. Also provides technical leadership in design, planning, implementation, and capacity-building of specific technical components of country-level programs’ strategic information management, analysis, and reporting for various purposes
- Provide overall technical direction and leadership for all technical activities in Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E)
- Work closely with the technical directors and Chief of Parties to provide advice in the area of SI for various purposes as appropriate, including but not limited to the harmonization/standardization of the FHI Maputo M&E systems
- Supports and supervises all research taking place through FHI360, project based as well as those activities based in headquarters
- Ensure all staff conducting research are up-to-date with research ethics trainings
- Work with the Research Manager to ensure that all research successfully completes ethical reviews
- Work with the research Manager to liaise FHI360 headquarters researcher
- Provide leadership to develop M&E tools and instruments, surveys and evaluation studies
- Work closely with the Sr. Data Manger to support the expansion and use of the Central Data Base
- Oversee the development in-depth analysis of FHI program data for publications, advocacy, proposal writing and presentation to various audiences, assistance not only the Mozambique Country overall office portfolio, and sub-project, but also the donors, and national level as need arises
- Assists in the application of program/project monitoring and evaluation results to modify existing programs and design new programs
- Participates in resource development and other writing on monitoring and evaluation studies as appropriate
Requirements
At least a Master’s degree or its international equivalent in Knowledge/Information services, Public Health, Education, Life/Social sciences, Management, or other related field related to international/human development.
International Applicants
A minimum of 5-8 years of international development program monitoring, evaluation and research work experience, including 3 years minimum in management and 2 years minimum in the field.
Mozambican Applicants
A minimum of 5-8 years of program monitoring, evaluation and research work experience work experience with international NGO and/or international donors such as USAID, including 3 years minimum in management and 2 years minimum in the field.
Both Applicants
- Demonstrated experience in sector specific or multi-sector project management and implementation
- Supervisory experience
- Must have very strong written and oral communication skills in English and Portuguese
