• Program Description: The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (EKN), Maputo through its Strengthening Food Systems and FNS in Beira Corridor program has given funding to Technoserve Mozambique for a regional food and nutrition security program (Manguana) for the period of 2023-2027. Agriculture is a critical pillar of the Mozambican economy, employing over 80% of the rural population and contributing to 25% of the national GDP. Small and medium farms account for 95% of agricultural production. Nonetheless, productivity is low for the majority of food crops. The project will complement other investments and coordinate with other programs in this sector to address productivity barriers in the Beira Corridor to improve FNS by increasing productivity, incomes, and jobs
• Specifically, the program seeks:
• Increased sustainable productivity and income for small-scale food producers
• Increased mobilization of capital for a competitive local agricultural industry
• Increased capacity of key stakeholder institutions
• Improved policy and legal/regulatory enabling environment
• Inclusive and sustainable net job creation
• Improved climate resilience
• Improvement of Household Food and Nutrition Security
• Job Summary: The Driver will report directly to the Project Admin Coordinator. He/she will assist in the coordination and execution of the project's logistics and transportation activities. The Driver's main responsibility is to assist the Program team with daily transportation to make the workflow smoother so that the whole team is more productive. The Driver will be based in Chimoio, with frequent trips to the field

Duties

• Transporting staff to and from the office
• Ability to perfom mechanical tasks an added advantage
• Knowledge of local laungages(Shona,Matewe,Chiute,Sena,Ndau) an added advantage
• Receiving and transporting staff from the airport to the hotel/home and vice versa
• Checking the arrival and departure times of traveling staff
• Checking with the Project Admin Coordinator that the traveling staff have their tickets up to date, and the respective dates and times of their travel plan
• Check with the Project Coordinator where they will be staying
• Distributing any necessary office correspondence
• Ensure that the vehicle is maintained in accordance with the rules in force at TechnoServe
• Keeping the vehicle clean at all times
• Checking that the vehicle's documentation is up to date and communicating in good time for regularization and necessary renewals
• Accurately filling in all documentation relating to the itinerary of journeys made and other control devices as provided for in TechnoServe's policy
• Ensuring that the vehicle is used properly and efficiently
• Carry out other tasks assigned to you
• Respecting the rules below from the code of conduct

Requisites

• Basic Qualifications:
• Grade 12
• Professional driving license, with 3 years proven experience working with NGOs
• Fluent in Portuguese, fluency in local languages would be an advantage
• Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet demanding deadlines
• Ability to work independently, flexibly, proactively and also as part of a team
• Demonstrated commitment to gender equality
• Knowledge of key donor compliance requirements (EKN) an advantage
• Should be currently residing in the Beira corridor
