Electrical Supervisor

Grindrod is recruiting a Electrical Supervisor, to be based in Maputo.

Duties

• Adhere to TCM Lock – out and Isolation procedure
• Ensure all conveyor equipment in the plant are in good safe condition
• Ensure all Electrical tools and equipment in the section are in good safe condition
• Ensure compliance with all SHERQ activities in the section [safety, health, environment, risk, and quality]
• Supervise and manage staff to obtain efficient and cost effective production levels
• Continuously improve maintenance performance and procedures
• Attend relevant meetings
• Preparation and Installation of Electrical Equipment
• Inspection, maintenance and Repair of Conveyor Equipment
• Inspection, Maintenance and Repair of Electrical Drives
• Inspection, Maintenance and Repair of Machine Hydraulics
• Inspection, Maintenance and Repair of rotating electrical equipment
• Inspection, Maintenance and Repair of Substation Equipment
• Use of Electrical Test Equipment
• Ensure all scheduled maintenance is carried out as planned
• Ensure all preventive maintenance is planned on SAP and executed as planned
• Ensure all breakdowns are addressed effectively (Right first time)
• Ensure effective communicating and reporting with all relevant personnel regarding condition and status of plant
• Manage relevant service providers working in section
• Ensure there are sufficient spares and repaired equipment to prevent plant delays
• Ensure that all deviations to plan are addressed
• Motivate and direct personnel to accomplish targets
• Conduct performance appraisals
• Follow disciplinary procedures when necessary
• Reviews and follows-up on subordinate’s performance
• Internal training and orientation of staff
• Oversee subcontractors
• Oversee outsourced labour maintenance and requirements
• Ensure work is allocated to staff and that it is executed correctly and safely
• Motivate and direct personnel to accomplish targets
• Conduct performance appraisals
• Follow disciplinary procedures when necessary
• Reviews and follows-up on subordinate’s performancE
• Internal training and orientation of staff
• Oversee subcontractors
• Oversee outsourced labour maintenance and requirements
• Keep record of daily activities & generate required management reports
• Maintain required work ethic & discipline in operations
• Cost control & expenditure to budget
• Signing off timesheets of both internal and outsourced staff
• Make out work requests

Requisites

• Minimum qualifications to perform role: n3
• Preferred qualification: 5 years trade tested electrical
• 2 years electrical supervisory.
• Minimum period of experience/ training (describe typical experience background)
