Engineering Superintendent Maintenance

Twigg Exploration & Mining, LDA is recruiting a Engineering Superintendent Maintenance, to be based in Balama - Cabo Delgado, Mozambique.

Duties

• Twigg Exploration and Mining, Lda a Mozambican company owned by Syrah Resources an Australian company, is currently constructing the Balama Graphite Project located in the Cabo Delgado Province of Mozambique This Project is the Company’s top priority with construction expected to be complete within the first half of 2017
• We are currently seeking to appoint a Engineering Superintendent Maintenance in a site-based role at Balama, will be responsible for ensuring the availability and reliability of the process plant, electricity supply and infrastructure through sustained effective maintenance planning at all times, leading a team of five engineers (Mechanical, electrical, automation, shutdown planner, condition monitoring) providing feedback to the operations manager

• Undertake daily work area inspections and report/rectify faults/issues to immediately
• Conduct risk assessments and job hazard analysis assessments on work activities as required
• Report all Hazards, Incidents and Near Misses in line with Company policies and procedures
• Continually monitor the plant environment to ensure the safety of yourself and other workers
• Make improvement recommendations to the HSSE Department & continually increase the level of safety in the plant and other associated facilities
• Manage the safety & environmental training of the Maintenance Team to ensure 100% compliance at all times
• Manage the daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly maintenance engineering process
• Coach and mentor all team members to build capability across our Mozambique workforce
• Ensure own and teams’ behavior is aligned with Company Values at all times
• Manage direct employees work performance as per the Twigg Exploration and Mining Work Performance System
• Lead/Manage a team of engineers and technicians to support both Engineering and Production needs by developing solutions and procedures that resolve issues
• Develop and improve proactive equipment reliability strategies (Reliability Control Plans) Develop, maintain and update maintenance documentation (repair reports, bill of materials, upgrade recommendations) for critical plant equipment

Requisites

• Tertiary qualification in Mechanics and/or Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role preferably with a plant maintenance focus
• Plant start-up and commissioning experience highly desirable
• Graphite processing experience highly desirable
• Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks and competing deadlines
• Proven leadership skills to influence, coach and mentor internally and team support
• Pro-activeness and proven capacity to think conceptually and make assertive decisions
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cohesively with team members
• Sound computer proficiency with intermediate MS Office skills & an advanced Excel and Database skill level
• In-depth understanding of the preventative maintenance process with thorough understanding of automation controls and industrial power distribution
