Environmental Officer

Twigg Exploration & Mining is recruiting a Environmental Officer, to be based in Balama, Mozambique.

Duties

• Collect water samples from raw or processed water, industrial waste water, surface and ground water or water from other sources for water quality assessment
• Set up equipment or stations to monitor and collect samples from sites, such as air quality and noise monitoring equipment
• Conduct bacteriological or other tests related to research in environmental or pollution control activity
• Assist in other environmental monitoring activities on routinely.
• Install and maintain data collection instrumentation
• Maintain environmental database and environmental records as required
• Assist in obtaining and maintaining the ISO14001 standards by effectively monitoring key areas and conducting audits on a regular basis
• Assist in maintaining an effective administration system, ensuring that all environmental checks is recorded and records maintained as per environmental system requirements
• Ensue regular site inspections and environmental sampling and analysis is carried out
• Manage environmental non-conformance system
• Co-ordinate or assist in environmental incident investigations
• Co-ordinate waste management programs and respond to management of hazardous spills incidents
• Maintain environmental equipment register and calibration certificates

Requisites

• A relevant Bachelor Degree of environmental or equivalent
• 2-3 years in a related field
• Experience on mining sector
• Knowledge of English Language written and speak will be advantage
• Knowledge of Computer use on Microsoft office
