Explorationist (m/f)

Duties

• Assist the Exploration Project Leader and contribute to the geosciences studies necessary to assess the HC potential of operated and non-operated licenses and New Ventures business opportunities
• Contribute to define the regional geological framework of the sedimentary basins through the synthesis and integration of the geological and geophysical information and data
• Contribute to identify, elaborate and model the geological components that characterize the process of hydrocarbon generation and accumulation integrating various specialized studies
• Contribute to represent the distribution of the geological features through the realization of geological maps and sections
• Contribute to identify and characterize the exploration plays for their selection and technical ranking
• By means of scouting and monitoring activities, consolidate the exploration knowledge with the aim of supporting the process of exploration opportunities’ generation and selection
• Contribute to conduct the integrated interpretation of the seismic data, starting from a regional context up to the prospect/target scale with the aim of identifying and characterizing structural and/or stratigraphic traps
• Contribute to integrate the geological evaluation of the seismic data with the information deriving from the analysis of the main seismic attributes
• Contribute to integrate the seismic/geological model with non-seismic geophysical data
• Contribute to elaborate the objectives of geophysical data acquisition to recommend the execution of specialized studies
• Contribute to support the established specialized services in the related planning and evaluate the results obtained both during the intermediate as well as in the final phases
• Contribute to ensure effective communication and reporting to Management and Partners
• Contribute to prepare technical documentation for relevant projects in cooperation with various EMO departments, HQ, license partners and authorities
• Contribute to prepare round application within set deadline to the INP including as much data as possible

Requisites

• Bachelor Degree in Geology/Geophysics
• Two years’ experience in an oil company
• Fluent in Portuguese and English
• Knowledge of EXPLORATION (Basin Assessment & Screening; G&G data Interpretation and Prospect Generation)
• Knowledge of GEOLOGY (Basin Geology; Geochemistry; Petrophysics; Res. Characterization; Sedimentology; Stratigraphy and Structural
• Knowledge of GEOPHYSICS (Depth Imaging; Seismic Stratigraphy, Velocity studies & Depth Conversion and Seismic Attributes)
