Feed the Future Value Chain is recruiting a Finance and Administration Officer, to be based in Nampula, Mozambique.
Description
- The USAID Feed the Future Mozambique Agricultural Innovations (FTF Inova) program was executed by DAI and USAID on February 22, 2017. The five-year, $20.9 million projects, funded by USAID, will work to increase equitable, pro-poor agricultural growth by linking private and public actors to design, pilot and adopt innovations that can strengthen the competitiveness of the agricultural sector. FTF Inova takes a flexible, portfolio-based approach to identify business innovation opportunities that can benefit smallholder farmers and women, and then use technical assistance and project funds to buy down risk to support companies test these innovations
- Overview: The Finance and Administration Officer for Nampula will ensure proper management of Nampula Office operations, financial and administrative processes, coordinate all logistical and travel arrangements within the city and provincial districts, manage operational tasks for Nampula (e.g., inventory and vehicle logs, HR matters, etc.) and ensure compliance with DAI and USAID policies and procedures. This position will serve as the focal point for establishing and maintaining financial records and preparing financial reports for the Nampula office

Duties
- The objectives and duties include but are not limited to:
- Ensure proper management of Nampula Office operations, financial and administration processes
- Take overall responsibility for managing, record and reconcile Nampula Office petty cash transactions
- Coordinate logistics including travel arrangements and project driver schedules
- Manages inventory and inventory tracking. Ensure proper internal controls related to inventory, stock management, fleet management are in place in Nampula office
- Acts as the focal point for Nampula office, including for financial reporting and operations matters
- Serve as the security focal point for Nampula Office
- Provides regular updates to Maputo office on regional office matters
- Maintains a good knowledge and understanding of all policies and procedures as set forth in the Field Operations Policy Manual
- Performs any other tasks assigned by the Finance and Administration Director, which are consistent with his/her qualifications, this Position Description and the general needs of the project
Requisites
- At least three years of experience in a finance and administration role on a program funded by an international donor
- College degree in a relevant field preferred (such as business administration or finance)
- Demonstrated honesty, trustworthiness, initiative, and self-motivation in handling all assigned tasks
- Knowledge of Nampula and surrounding areas (i.e., vendors, etc.) desirable
- Must have English and Portuguese language proficiency, verbal and written
