GE is seeking students and graduates to join the Graduate Engineering Program (Field Service), to be based in Maputo.
Duties
- Provide onsite technical direction and leadership during installation, start up, commissioning and maintenance to customer owned power generation and industrial facilities. Power generation includes customer owned utilities, marine drives, industrial power plants and nuclear power plants utilizing gas and steam turbines. Industrial facilities include power generation, marine, petrochemical, paper, steel, automotive and transportation industries
- This entry-level position offers a career path after significant field experience that can lead to assignments in Customer/Product Service, Sales, Engineering, and Management as well as provide training and opportunities in Business and Project Management. Training: Field Engineers undergo a comprehensive 8-12 month development program providing both technical and business skills to allow them to operate confidently and independently at customer sites
- Training takes place in Mozambique and aboard
Requisites
- Mechanical or Electric Engineer Degree
- Maximum 2 years experience in technical role
- Availability to execute activities worldwide (on and off-shore)
- Basic theoretical physical/thermodynamic fundamentals
- Familiarity with common PC software tools
- Strong analytic and problem solving skills
- Good interpersonal & organizational skills
- Fluent English language
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Flexible, adaptable, and open to change
- Willing to work / travel abroad
- High performer with a passion to achieve positive business results
- Curiosity and desire to learn and expand skill set
- Ability to read technical drawings/schematics
- Basic knowledge of rotating equipment installation/maintenance; philosophy of Gas Turbines OR Centrifugal Compressors, OR Reciprocating Compressors, OR Steam Turbines and their auxiliaries (lube oil system, fuel gas system, seal gas system, steam system etc…)
