Aldelia is recruiting a Head of HSE (m/f), to be based in Cabo Delgado, Mozambique.
Duties
- Ensure adherence to legal and company policies and procedures and undertake disciplinary actions if the need arises
- Ensure the implementation and compliance of the rules-directive, policies, company procedures, operational manual, and the legal requirements
- Ensure that Operational & Statutory reports are delivered on time
- Ensure and Monitoring of Environmental Management Plan
- Ability to Manage team and skills for conflict resolution and problem solving
- Ensure full compliance for Statutory Safety, Health, and Environmental requirements
- Be proactive and lead Organizational culture change on HSE
- Knowledge to prepare and manage budget within the Department
- Maintaining health relationships with internal & external key stakeholders or liaising with relevant bodies such as local authorities, public bodies, and competent bodies
- Maintain Emergency Preparedness
- Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual HSEQ performance reviews
- Creating and maintaining good relations with all departments
- Establishing new HSE plans and policies
- Developing programs to support HSE Organizational culture
- Ensuring all employees comply with HSE procedures and Policies
- Focusing HSE strategies that meet up the future business needs
- Effectively managing all Audit outcomes and any HSE action which my harm organizational reputation
- Ensure development and Implementation of HSEQ Induction Training modules
- Coordinating Disaster Management Programs
Requisites
- A bachelor’s degree in occupational health, safety, or a related field, such as engineering, biology, chemistry or HSE
- HSE Qualification for legal compliance such as: NOSA, SAMTRAC, HACCAP, ICAM, IT IS, NEBOSCH, etc.
- Uphold high standards of Risk Management and monitor the Implementation of Integrated System of Quality
- Management (OHAS 18001, ISO9001 & ISO 14001)
- Ensure compliance of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Environmental Management
- Minimum seven (7) to ten (10) years’ experience in related areas
- Experience of leading teams in areas covering HSE
- Experience in liaising, managing, influencing, and negotiating with government authorities
- Expertise in project operations
- Skills and competencies:
- Portuguese/English speaking with excellent communications skills (both written and verbally).Good business communication skills, both oral and written
- Able to handle multiple subjects with responsibilities and under pressure
- Strong understanding of Mozambican Legislation & related legal framework
- Prove knowledge of HSE area
- Strong sense of responsibility and leadership
- Good ability of listening skill
- Capable to identify and solve challenging condition or occupational risks
- Analytical and logical thinking skills to solve complex situation
- Able to communicate important information and knowledge
- Capability to provide high level of customer service
- Capable to utilize computer including MS-Office, web application
- Strong in interface management skills
