RSM is recruiting for its client, a prestige Bank that will start operating in the mozambican market, a Head of IT, to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.
Duties
- Plan and implement/update all technology projects/Strategies. Ensure project documentation is maintained in line with institutional standards
- Plan and budget for the organization, equipment and staffing to meet the business technology requirements
- Co-ordinate the development of PC based applications to support business products consistent in line with institutional procedures and best practices
- Ensure appropriate organizational and staffing control within the technology function, where required segregation of duties & dual control are maintained
- Ensure adequate and relevant contingency and disaster recovery plans are maintained and periodically tested
- Oversee service management of vendors and outsourced operations and execution of Service Level Agreements (SLA)
- Adopting new processes, roles and skills for the IS function, by focusing on delivering services, rather than software to the business
- Structuring IT to serve complex, global business organizations by implementing technological and management approaches that permit the benefits of globalization and localization to be realized simultaneously
- Safeguarding the organization's information assets, by keeping abreast of new threats, such as service attacks and spamming
- Design Technology Architecture and Database that enables business agility
- Manage Office Automation Systems and Network design/Communications
- Monitor level of IT awareness and regular delivery of effective IT training for IT users and business users
- Champions the annual development/review of Business Requirement Analysis, IT Strategic Planning, IT Technology Architecture Planning, IT Process Review and Development, Capacity Planning, Risk Mitigation Planning, High Availability Planning, and Disaster Recovery Planning
- Supervise/Evaluate performance of IT personnel and prepare the IT Budget and annual plan
- Articulate and implement a business plan for the Bank in Mozambique
- Ensure the business of the bank is facilitated through the use of technology for the delivery of superior customer service in line with corporate objectives and goals
- Maximize the bank’s competitive advantage with strict adherence to laid down policies and procedures and conform with regulatory guidelines
- Ensure continuous improvement of operations through deployment of leading edge technologies that efficiently and effectively support the bank’s business
- Develop IT capacity within the bank in three areas i.e. people, skills and knowledge
Requisites
- First degree in any Business related discipline
- Masters in Business Administration or Banking & Finance and professional qualification will be an added advantage
- Minimum of 7 years experience in a bank/financial institution
- Experience in banking operations will be an added advantage
- Banking Database System
- Strong alliance management skills
- Excellent customer relationship development/management

- Creative thinking and innovative
- Knowledge and understanding of Information Technology
- Good product development and management capabilities
