Health and Nutrition Co-ordinator

Heading Moçambique is searching for an Health and Nutrition Co-ordinator to be part of a new project in education for World Vision financed by the US Government, to be based in Nampula.

Duties

• The purpose of the Health and Nutrition Co-ordinator position is to ensure that health and nutrition activities within the project are implemented to a high standard and that the health and nutrition components are effectively integrated with the education and food components
• The major responsibilities are to participate in the project planning to ensure that health and nutrition activities are thoroughly incorporated, ensure that District Health and Nutrition Trainers are effectively prepared and resourced to achieve their targets, monitor the progress of health and nutrition activities at the community level to ensure quality implementation, facilitate effective working relationships with other organizations

Requisites

• Degree in medicine or nursing with public health experience or Degree in development or social sciences with training in community health
• 5 years relevant experience implementing primary health care programmes or maternal and child health interventions
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including main language of area of assignment, and Portuguese and English
• Computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel, or other similar software
