HSE Officer (m/f)

Duties

• Provide HSEQ/Security support to Terminals to ensure compliance with Safety Company standards, practices and regulations
• Support the Terminal Managers in preparation of annual safety and legal compliance budget
• Coordinate the implementation of the annual HSE planning and performance measurement and reporting
• Drive process improvement initiatives in support of HSE performance
• Check and assist the terminals in developing, testing and keeping up to date the Emergency Response Plan for each terminal and provide support and guidance to the terminals to conduct with relevant experts’ hazards identification, work/contractor’s safety compliance and risk assessment exercises
• Assist site on the HSE incident reporting and investigation framework and provide regular reports to HSSEQ manager
• Follow up monthly safety report of all near miss and insert in the Near miss platform, and action closed updated
• Lead the accident investigation sessions within the site and track the implementation of the agreed actions
• Check accident, incident and near misses are reported, documented and analyzed
• Follow up of actions from safety records (near miss, safety meetings, drills, Toolbox meetings,)
• Participate in the internal audits and Coordinate site statistical analysis and reports of HSE performance
• Check implementation of safety actions from risk assessment, security surveys, audits, self-audits are worked and tracked to closure
• Check compliance of Critical Safety Barriers, recommend corrective actions and participate in preparation of mitigations measures for all nonconformance (DMR`s)
• Follow up of HSE risk register, monitoring, reviews and reports
• Follow up of Security facilities (equipment) maintenance and repair to ensure they meet their service objectives effectively
• Follow up security action plans (verify actions are and closed out by due date);
• Enforce preventative measures
• Assess Site Safety checks and Check compliance of work control procedure
• Inspect and Intervene in all unsafe activities or operations
• Check if all the employees, contractors are acting in adherence with rules and regulations
• Attend site safety meetings
• Manage documents and records of safety related incidents and propose corrective actions

Requisites

• Degree in Engineering, Applied Science or other areas
• Minimum of 2- 3 years of experience in the Operations Industry
• Solid knowledge of HSSEQ and Quality Legislation
• Proven experience in the fuel, chemical and related industries
• Well- developed communication and influence skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others
• Fluent in Portuguese and English in spoken and written
• Proven ability to successfully introduce new ideas
• Good communication skills
• Good player in team work
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to prepare reports and procedures
• Good analysis and synthesis skills
• Computer knowledge with all MS Office products
