ALISTAIR is recruiting a Human Resource Officer (m/f), to be based in Pemba, Mozambique.
Description
- Alistair Group is a logistics provider in East & Southern Africa with operations based in the North of Mozambique. We are expanding in the area and are hoping to hire another HR Officer
- Working hours:- Monday to Friday with alternate Saturdays
- Reporting to: HR Lead (Mozambique)
- English & Portuguese essential
Duties
Recruitment
- Working with Driver Management team to drivers
- Taking a role in recruitment by ensuring all applicants’ records are up to date, sending tests, profiling candidates for interviews and assisting in the interview process
On boarding
- Ensure orientation of all new employees is done and recorded appropriately
- Ensure all QHSE procedures are adhered during employees’ orientation
- Applying for and securing all work permits; keeping these up to date for all expatriate staff
Filling and documentation
- Preparing and maintaining clean HR files for all staff
- Provides payroll information by daily capturing change in employee life events
- Processing advances, loans and leave requests
- Processing employee contracts
- Works with HRM, Driver trainer to ensure all training records are up date
Legal
- Liaising with HR to implement all new procedures
- Taking part in disciplinary matters, especially attending disciplinary meetings with HR consultant and ensuring required paper work and record is up to date
Reporting
- Compile HR monthly reports and send to HRM
- Work together with accounts department to make follow ups for collections for money owed to the company by employees
- Working closely with HRM in conducting leave, health benefit and general file audits
Administration
- General facility management including but not limited to office
- Maintaining office filling for documents and ensuring safe custody
- Closely monitoring the office notice board and ensure it is updated with the latest and important information
- Ensure all due diligence for the company and all vehicles, motorcycles, trucks and trailers is updated on time
- Maintain office equipment, stationery and consumables
- Receiving company guests, arranging for their transport and accommodation
- Guiding and supervising support staff on daily basis to ensure efficiency and effectiveness
- Collecting and dispatching documents from/to suppliers
- Any other admin duty as may be assigned from time to time
- Actively support the Alistair Group Health, Safety, Environment and Quality vision and values
Requisites
- Bachelor of Business Administration or relevant tertiary education
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role
- Ability to work effectively with different cultures
- Strong communication and administration skills
- Self-motivation, leadership and management skills
- Ability to use electronic office software, word, excel, email
