- The U.S. Mission in Maputo/Mozambique is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Information Management Assistant in the Diplomatic Technology office
Duties
- This position will serve as one of three IT Technicians for the ‘Customer Engagement’ portfolio of the Diplomatic Technology (DT) section. The incumbent provides end-users (customers) with system administrator IT support for desktop hardware, applications, Audio & Visual (A/V), and mobile devices to an embassy workforce with almost 350 end users, and associated OpenNet, Wi-Fi, and Non-Enterprise Network (NEN) desktop workstations, mobile devices, cellular phone lines, and managing an inventory of nonexpendable equipment valued at over $1.8 million
- Responsibilities include implementing core network system upgrades, security devices, data backups and maintenance of Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) systems. Ensures support and availability of the Mozambique office LAN and WAN networks which connects the entire mission to the world
- Provides direct support to mission Mozambique staff by maintaining LAN/WAN connectivity, desktop hardware and software applications, database inventory of health systems, O365 cloud services, and mobile devices
- The incumbent provides IT Tier level I and II troubleshooting support to staff to resolve problems and issues related to connectivity, printers, hardware, mobile devices and software on a daily basis
- Incumbent also supports the roll-out and office integration of new applications and technologies as approved and assigned by the DT bureau
- This position also supports Consular Affairs Systems (understand, use, configure, troubleshoot, and administer consular systems specific software suites), manages the IT Asset Inventory (conducts inventory for all IT Assets inside NEC Compound, Warehouse, some residences, including handhelds and mobile radios installed in GOVs), and backs up the TelTech support services for radios, cellphones, desk phones, and database management as needed
