American International School of Mozambique is recruiting a Integrated Learning Logistics Assistant, to be based in Maputo.
Duties
Overview
- The Integrated Learning Logistics Assistant will manage the logistical aspects of the Integrated Learning Department, under the supervision of the Learning Projects Director and Athletic Director
- She will act as an administrative assistant focusing on organizing logistical issues for the Service Learning, Sports, and Week Without Walls programs
- General Responsibilities
- Maintain and enhance a system to transport students on Service learning Days, local and international sports events, and Integrated Learning trips, covering boarding, transport, and return procedures for both bus and air travel
- Establish an efficient system to collect material needs from all SL groups, After School Activity Groups, and sports teams, through interaction with teachers, coaches, advisors, and student leaders
- Establish partnership with main suppliers in order to facilitate purchase process
- Purchase all material requested for Service learning, Sports, and After School Activity programs and transport it in liaison with AISM maintenance department
- Keep an accurate log of purchases, advances etc. in liaison with AISM’s financial department
- Keep stock of all Integrated Learning materials
- Solicit, organize, and communicate with host families for guest students and teachers who are attending events at AISM
- Assist in the coordination of the activities during Integrated Learning related activities
- Maintain and enhance a system for the administration of documentation for all Integrated Learning trips, including distributing, collecting, filing, and organizing of documents necessary for safe and legal travel
- Prepare letters and communications to diverse audiences
- Liaise with the AISM Community via phone, email, and letters to accomplish general responsibilities
- Perform typical everyday office work
Requisites
- The Integrated Learning Logistics Assistant must have
- A college or university degree in areas such as economics, education, communication or social sciences
- Fluent speaking, reading, and writing skills in Portuguese and English
- Computer skills with the ability to use Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
- Experience creating accurate electronic records to keep track of stock, finances, and filing
- Good collaborative skills with experience in management
- Integrity and ethics, acting with professionalism at all times
- The ability to work efficiently, independently
- The ability to work well under pressure
- The ability to connect to diverse populations and a multicultural environment
- A valid driver’s license
