IT Manager

PSI Mozambique is recruting an IT Manager, to be based in Maputo.

Duties
  • Provide technical leadership and implementation oversight for all PSI/Mozambique’s IT related projects and initiatives
  • Operation and maintenance of network, servers and server rooms in accordance with PSI/Mozambique and international best practices to ensure business continuity
  • Coordinate the helpdesk function which includes providing internal clients support and advice while resolving at the shortest time possible user IT problems
  • Manage all IT assets including trouble shooting, repair and maintenance of systems, software and hardware equipment
  • Define and review strategies to track cost efficiencies by putting in inventory of all IT software, hardware and IT consumables
  • Responsible for the overall security of PSI/Mozambique’s information systems and networks as per policy
  • Manage organizations Internet access to maintain maximum internet availability in accordance with the IT policy
  • Manage the organizations IT business continuity plan including data backups and restoration
  • Reviewing the IT Policies and procedure to ensure their relevance and alignment to the overall strategic plan of the organization
  • Managing the IT section and proposing necessary training for users and technical staff to effectively meet the emerging challenges in PSI/Mozambique
Requisites
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or Information Systems
  • Five years working experience in a relevant IT environment and at least 3 years in management
  • IT Management Certification in hardware or software (MCSE, MCSD, MCCP, ITIL, Prince, PMP and/or, CISA) from a recognized body
  • Management skills and proficiency in operations of VMware and Netapp Infrastructure
  • Proficiency in computing technology, programming, and practical knowledge of Oracle and SQL databases
  • Over 5 years’ experience in a busy environment with extensive LAN, WIFI and WAN coverage
  • Experience in trouble shooting and configuration of Windows 2008 and Exchange 2010 server will be an added advantage
  • Must have management skills
  • Technical Ability: Understands and appropriately applies procedures, requirements, regulations, and policies related to job requirements. Uses knowledge that is acquired through formal training or extensive on-the-job experience to perform one’s job; works with, understands, and evaluates technical information related to the job.
  • Oral Communication: Expresses facts and ideas orally in a clear, convincing, and organized manner
  • Written Communication: Recognizes or uses correct Portuguese and English grammar, punctuation, and spelling
  • Demonstrated experience leading large IT initiatives funded by international donor organizations, preferably funded by USAID or other USG agencies
  • Experience developing successful, replicable and sustainable projects
  • Sector Knowledge – identifying best practices and adapting them to program realities
