MoWoza is recruiting a Junior Researcher and Data Administrator, to be based in Maputo.
Duties
- The core project team will be looking to the junior researcher to search, collect and organise large amounts of data
- The junior researcher should have experience in investigating, collecting, copying, cataloguing and managing large amounts of data and documents from different sources (public, private and civil sector). A lot of this data will be in hard copy and will need to be digitised, reviewed and proofed
- The candidate should have an entrepreneurial and can do attitude and be willing to work from different offices as they research and gather data. The role will also require that the candidate draft documents/proposals and keep track of expenses and do some admin work
- The candidate person should have a good command of Portuguese and speak, read and write English well. The candidate should be proficient in word/excel/powerpoint/access and willing to learn other software packages
- Requisites
- Interested in the history of Mozambique, economics, development, informal markets and technology Willing to work unsupervised and with virtual teams Responsible and proud of his/her work as they will be working with international authorities
- Work well under pressure, meet strict deadlines and adhere to confidentiality agreements
- Analytical and be willing to prioritise detail of data gathered
- Be adaptable as their work will require some juggling activities, locations and tasks
- 3-4 years experience
