  • VillageReach, in partnership with Bull City Learning, is launching the HPV Vaccine Peer-to-Peer Learning Initiative in Mozambique. This initiative is aimed at strengthening the capacity of staff at multiple levels of the immunization system to improve HPV vaccine uptake, particularly among out-of-school girls. The project will implement and evaluate two peer-learning approaches, both of which will require in-person engagement and facilitation while also leveraging digital tools and platforms to facilitate engagement between participants. Learning activities will take place in districts determined in coordination with the government. VillageReach will pay per-diem for travel and accommodation as required for carrying out learning activities
  • VillageReach is seeking a Learning Manager for a fixed-term role of approximately 18 months, with a target start date of April 1, 2025, and an anticipated end date of September 30, 2026. The role of the Learning Manager is to implement the two peer-learning approaches by coordinating activities, providing facilitation and coaching, documenting lessons learned, and fostering engagement across both in-person and digital platforms. The ideal candidate will have experience working in health systems (ideally immunization systems), adult learning facilitation, and community engagement

Duties
  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time
  • Organize logistics and facilitate in-person and virtual meetings for peer-learning approaches
  • Moderate and encourage ongoing virtual engagement with participants through WhatsApp groups or other virtual platforms
  • Provide insights and ideas to drive development of learning approach materials and tools, troubleshoot challenges, and implement strategies to sustain participation
  • Capture key lessons learned, success stories, and best practices from the Learning Exchange and Peer Groups
  • Support participants in creating and sharing documentation (e.g., videos, photo stories, reports) to disseminate learnings
  • With support from VillageReach staff in Mozambique, coordinate with sub-national, facility, and community-level stakeholders to recruit participants for learning activities
  • Monitor participant engagement and work with the M&E lead to track key indicators
  • Participate in stakeholder engagement meetings
  • Collaborate with and participate in regular program meetings with VillageReach staff based in Mozambique and globally

Requisites
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Public Health or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in health program implementation, training facilitation, or community engagement
  • Experience working with health staff, public health programs, immunization programs, or capacity-building initiatives
  • Strong facilitation skills, particularly in workshops with diverse participants, peer-to-peer knowledge sharing, and participatory approaches
  • Preferred - Knowledge of Mozambique’s immunization system structure and strategies and awareness of HPV vaccination
  • Preferred - Experience moderating online learning communities, WhatsApp groups, or other digital engagement platforms
  • Other Qualifications:
  • Established cultural competency in partnering with racial, cultural and linguistically diverse groups
  • Demonstrated understanding of challenges with working in rural, underserved and low-income context; experience living in and/or working in a low-income country a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel) and comfortable in a fast-paced technical environment
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Portuguese
  • Strong communication, relationship management, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Strong organization skills and detail-oriented
  • Experience working successfully independently and in team settings
  • Ability to travel domestically for work (approximately 25-50% time for 5-6 months)

  • Environment and Physical Demands: VillageReach employees typically work in a shared, open environment with task and conference rooms accessible to employees for privacy and meetings. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. Due to the time zone differences across our USA, Kenya and Country Offices and location of other global staff, we have established core collaboration hours between 6am Pacific Time and 18:00 South Africa Time (GMT+1) Monday through Thursday. All staff, regardless of location are expected to be available between these hours. During Daylight Savings Time, this allows for 12 hours per week (3 hours/day) of collaboration time and during Standard Time, 8 hours (2 hours/day). We do not hold cross-office meetings on Friday
  • We anticipate 25-50% travel between May and September, 2025 and in January and April, 2026. Otherwise, most work will be conducted at the office with occasional external stakeholder meetings
