Grindrod is recruiting a Line Manager - Shift, to be based in Nacala, Mozambique.
Duties
- To ensure the efficient day to day running of the dispatch operation in accordance with the Company Policy and Procedures, HSEQ and Oil Company compliance
- Shift Management:
- Meet the contractual requirements as set out in the transport contract
- Optimise the overall performance, through focusing on asset and staff productivity, fleet optimisation
- Ensure Customer KPI requirements are met
- Overall Supervision of the dispatch activities and report deviations to Transport Manager
- Conduct driver de-briefs and record all problems experienced on route
- Check documentation accurately and report any transgression to Transport Manager
- Obtain potential incident reports/delivery constraints from drivers
- Allocate vehicles to drivers at the start of shifts
- Critical Outcomes:
- Customer satisfaction
- Efficient and effective operational outcomes
- Efficient and optimum utilisation of resources
- Administration:
- Liaise with Workshop regarding break-downs/overnight trips/meter tests and legal requirements after hours
- Approve routing schedule on a daily basis
- Control driver attendance to determine absenteeism and report same to Transport Manager
- Accurate capture of trips
- Ensure driver sign daily attendance sheet before vehicles are allocated
- Preparation of loading documents for trips and pre-loads
- Complete hand-over schedules for next shift
- Compile the failure report for the specific shift and submit to Oil Company and Transport Manager
- Scanning of trip documents to DSSS for processing
- Handling of queries

- Quality of accuracy and reporting to Management
- Audit and Compliance:
- Ensure both internal policies, rules and procedures as well as legislation and best practice principles are complied with and necessary corrective action taken

- Attend bi-monthly safety meetings
- Attend TBT ‘s

- Data Capturing:
- Capture the following information onto OROS2 system daily:
- Driver attendance register
- Trips
- All pre-loads
- Night-out-allocations
- Verify that all driver details appear on OROS2
- Report system related problems to Transport Manager
- Critical Outcomes:
- Accurate and timeous
- Purchase Orders:
- Issue purchase orders on daily basis for all Depot Operational requirements
- Place orders with Suppliers
- File copies of Purchase Orders
- Send invoices Head Office for payment
- Critical Outcomes:
- Quality of accuracy and reporting to Management
- Accurate and on time payments to Suppliers
Requisites
- Degree in related areas
- Interpersonal skills
- Intermediate MS Office Skills

- Fluent in English and Portuguese

- Five years Bulk Transport experience
