WFP is recruiting a Logistics Associate (Procurement & Contracting) - SC G/6, to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.
Duties
- Under the overall guidance of the of the Head of Supply Chain and direct supervision of the Senior Supply Chain Associate, the Supply Chain Assistant will perform the following duties:
- Procurement of Services
- In coordination with all relevant parties, perform mark access by identifying, assess and recommend potential CBT suppliers (retailers), and ensure necessary data/documents are distributed to support the selection of suppliers, ensuring standard processes are followed
- Assist in conducting market studies (information gathering, setting up of meetings, preparing information)
- Assist with update of shortlist of service providers (including send and receive questionnaires from service providers, guide potential service providers on WFP needs)
- Assist in monitoring markets – identify trends and new private sector initiatives
- Assist in renewing contracting formats and templates
- Assist in launching and assessing new tenders, as well as prepare for internal WFP procedures in this connection
- Assist in evaluating the performance of WFP service providers
- Assist in monitoring and troubleshooting the implementation of CBT
- Coordinate and monitor the supplier’s deliveries by verifying receipt and/or inspection of deliverables, and performing follow up actions to ensure supplies delivered in line with the contractual terms
- Work closely with other internal sections to expedite the payment of retailers claims
- Assist in performing warehouse and other supply chain market access
- In coordination with all relevant parties, ensure that all necessary processes and rates are in place to facilitate the transport and delivery of WFP commodities, as well as by safeguarding WFP’s interests through avoid/minimize operations delays
- Follow standard emergency preparedness practices to support WFP to quickly respond and deploy food/CBT and needed resources to affected areas at the onset of the crisis
- Prepare the CCTI reports
- Prepare correspondence and reports in English and Portuguese
- Assist with negotiation of Field Level Agreements and provision of guidance to Head of Sub-Offices
- Prepare memos, letters, reports, spreadsheets, as requested
- Filing: Archive electronically all current contracts
- Perform other related duties as required.
Requisites
- Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in the related functional area is desirable
- Fluency in both oral and written communication in Portuguese and intermediate knowledge in English
- Has worked on procurement activities
- Experience conducting analysis and developing reports
- Experience working with suppliers or other third party on day to day basis
