Twigg Exploration & Mining is recruiting a Logistics Superintendent, to be based in Nacala, Mozambique.
Duties
- Develop credible constructive relationship with all transport and logistic stakeholders and ensure seamless operations across the supply chain
- Develop and implement the Port Services Agreement at Nacala
- Manage the Transport & Logistics Contract with Syrah Resources’ preferred supplier in line with operational requirements
- Develop and implement a Transport & Logistics reporting framework
- Ensure transport contracts are in place that will deliver excellence to the organisation
- Develop commercial transport solutions that support marketing initiatives
- Ensure the right products are delivered to the right location on time, at the agreed cost
- Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, import/export documentation, or customer issues
- Develop a periodic system to monitor relevant legislation & regulatory changes in Mozambique
- Contribute to Company Strategic Planning initiatives as required
- Work with the Technical Services & Integrated Planning Manager to develop and implement a QA/QC management system across the Balama product chain – Mining, Processing, Logistics/Shipping & Sales
- Make presentations on project status, present monthly and annual reports to senior management
- Meet with client teams and gather requirements, conduct regular team meetings and track project progress
- Ensure compliance with key procedures, policies and documentation requirements across the supply chain
- Contribute to weekly/monthly/annual reporting
- Prepare integrated wet season planning with a focus on the whole supply chain from mine to customers
- Provide technical assistance to comply with regulations including IMO (International Maritime Code), IMSBC (International Maritime Solid Bulk Cargoes) and BLU (Practice for the Safe Loading & Unloading of Bulk Carriers), logistics contractors and relevant Port Authorities
- Assist in the development & implementation of an Integrated Logistics Strategy and work closely with the contracts & commercial team, warehouse controls & inventory, product transportation, shipping control, port services, customs officers and the Sales & Marketing team (Syrah DMCC)
Requisites
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Law, Commerce, Marketing, Logistics, Finance, International Trade or related fields
- Minimum 5 years in supply chain/international freight transportation, including significant shipping management experience
- Demonstrated experience in developing cost down solutions
- Ability to set up new supply chains using multi-modal transport solutions
- Experience in Chartering or the International container shipping industry
- Experience in working within a sales and operational planning process
- Strong contractor/subcontractor supply chain management experience
- Strong relationship building and negotiation skills
