Heading is recruiting a Maintenance Manager, to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.
Duties
- Ensures that productivity, Quality and safety are everyday practice
- Manages maintenance staff, processes and activities for all plant machinery to ensure safe, continual and efficient operation
- Monitors and continually improves maintenance processes and maintenance personnel performance to achieve enhanced levels of performance
- Identifies current and future maintenance requirements by establishing lines of communication with management, production personnel, tradesmen, technicians and other persons in a position of understanding maintenance requirements
- Achieves final objectives by preparing annual maintenance expenditures, analysing variances and initiating corrective action
- Ensures production operations by determining work priorities and scheduling repair, maintenance and installation of machines, tools and equipment
- Designs, Implements and modifies preventive maintenance programmes by reviewing production, QA, maintenance reports and statistics Inspects operating machines, equipment’s and systems for conformance with operations standards
- Directs maintenance operations by initiating, coordinating and enforcing program, operational and personal policies and procedures
- Protects employees and visitors by maintain clean and safe work environment
- Maintains maintenance staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting and training employees
- Maintains maintenance staff job results by coaching, counselling, planning, monitoring and appraising job results
- To supervise Electrical & Mechanical works on a daily basis and help address practical issues on sites
- Prepares and/or reviews contract documents for purchase and delivery of equipment, materials, supplies and services for the purpose of coordinating requisition of required materials and services
- Monitors operation of plant equipment and systems
- Reviews the operation of plant equipment and systems constantly, to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate solve problems in a timely manner, and to identify opportunities for improvement
- Prepares reports, analyzes data, and makes recommendations for improving plant operations and solving maintenance‐related problems
- Coordinates activities with Plant Operations Departments
- Diagnoses malfunctions and determines repairs, service, and/or maintenance requirements of equipment for the purpose of ensuring proper production operations
- Prepares written material for the purpose of maintaining records and conveying information
Requisites
- Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in semi or fully automated production plant (Experience in flour milling will be an advantage)
- Ability to communicate fluently in either English or Portuguese [both is an advantage]
- Basic computer skills and ability to use MS office programs
- Experience in budgeting
- Willing to travel when required
