Maintenance Superintendent-Processing

Twigg Exploration & Mining, LDA is recruiting a Maintenance Superintendent-Processing, to be based in Balama - Cabo Delgado, Mozambique.

Duties

• Supporting the project with technical expertise and input during the construction phase to ensure critical operational/maintenance considerations are met
• Work closely with the Operations Manager to ensure integrated planning and efficient execution and control of work
• Identify, scope and execute operational readiness initiatives including
• Development of policies, procedures and safe work instructions
• Training Needs Analysis
• Development of the maintenance scheduling regimes and critical spares inventory
• Implement work order processes and procedures
• Recruitment of maintenance personnel and manage the appointment process in conjunction with the HR Team for national and local employees
• Management of maintenance performance activities (daily, weekly, monthly, annually), implementing improvement plans to maximize the integrity, availability and safety compliance of the plant
• Ensure all maintenance activities are compliant with Syrah’s safe systems of work
• Establish and promote a safety awareness culture
• Ensure maintenance staff are competently trained
• Coach and mentor team members to build capability across our Mozambique workforce
• Preparation of the annual budget for maintenance operations – develop plans with respect to maintenance costs, forecasts, resourcing needs, shutdown/overhaul strategies, project interfaces etc
• Contribute to monthly reporting process

Requisites

• Maintenance Trade Qualification or equivalent
• 7 + years maintenance management experience in the mineral processing industry
• Pronto experience preferable
• Previous experience taking green fields projects into full production is critical
• Exposure to Graphite and/or Vanadium processing would be a distinct advantage
• Demonstrated track record working in Africa/developing countries
• Demonstrated success managing budgets while delivering against maintenance targets
• Proven ability to identify and foresee maintenance risks and opportunities
• Demonstrated experience managing, coaching and developing staff
• Proactive and demonstrated commitment to safety through communication and visual leadership
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
