AgDevCo is recruiting a Management Accountant/Administrator, to be based in Manica.
Duties
- Maintenance of the books of account (Pastel) and preparation of monthly management and annual statutory accounts
- Ensuring compliance with internal financial and regulatory obligations
- Managing all monitoring and evaluation requirements
- Overseeing the general administration of the business
- Overseeing all HR matters
- Overseeing bookkeeping, payroll (INSS/IRPS), IVA filing and compliance
- Preparation of invoices and receipts
- Verifying and payment of external invoices
- Reconciling bank accounts at each month
- Make weekly trips to Chimoio to arrange payments and purchases
- Managing stock (seed, packaging, chemicals, animals, meat)
- Responsible for the development of monthly management accounts
- Analysing business pricing, gross margins, and profitability by product
- Preparation of the annual budget and management of actual against budget
- Managing audit procedure and preparation of audit pack
- Tracking expenditure for specific business units
- Reconciling purchase accounts, with sub-contracted traders/agents
- Preparation of cashflow statements and forecasts
- Act as contact with external advisers and banks in conjunction with the MD
- Overseeing labour contracts, salaries, and compliance with labour laws
- Prepare monitoring and evaluation reports for shareholders and funders
- Responsible for ensuring the company is compliant with all insurances and licenses etc
- Responsible for the payroll on a monthly basis
- Sales recons in conjunction with sales representative and clients
- Salary payments at the end of each month
Requisites
- Medium level technical or Upper Level in accounting, finance, or related subjects
- Knowledge of Mozambican legislation (IVA, IRPS, IRPC) and Pastel Accounting software (manufacturing and inventory modules)
- Solid Excel knowledge
- MUST BE Fluent in Portuguese and English (spoken and written)
- Excellent, written, presentation and communication skills
- Good planning and organization capability
- Availability for occasional travel
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently
- Drivers licence
- Willing to understand the business by continuous visits to various sectors to keep up with what is happening on in the business
- 3-5 years’ related work experience in this field
- Shona language skills
- Experience working for an agricultural related business
- Self-motivated and looking for improvement opportunities within the company
- Must be assertive and highlight opportunity areas to the MD
