Aldelia is recruiting a Manager Civil Engineering & Construction (m/f),to be based in Cabo Delegado, Mozambique.
Description
- Responsible for managing the construction house for resettlement village for the company, to be located near the village. Ensure resettlement project is delivered on time & within budget whilst safeguarding all statutory compliance requirements
Duties
- Act as key expert for the project design and build phase advising the
company’s RAP team and the government appointed RAP Committee
(CTASR) on project status
- Prepare timely project analyses and reports for management & CTASR
- Liaising and manage construction contractors and a variety of professionals including government inspectors on project development and resolving arising issues
- Manage project resources with the Senior Manager (RAP) and deliver without defaults or deviation
- Ensure the project complies with legal requirements, especially health and safety and construction compliance
- Monitor, evaluate and report progress during each key phase of the project to minimize risk of construction complications, failures or other such risks that may affect the long-term viability of the village to its inhabitants
- Resolve design and development problems and budgeting issues
- Coach and engage with less-experienced team members
Requisites
- University or master’s degree (engineering, construction design &
development or related field)
- 7+ years civil engineering, construction, contractor management of large civil projects
- Ideally some experience of resettlement village construction
Experience working with variety of cultures and management styles
(organizational cultural sensitivity)
