Manager – Financial Planning & Commercial Finance

Vodacom is recruiting a Manager - Financial Planning & Commercial Finance, to be based in Maputo.

Duties

• Executing month end financial reporting as required by Vodacom Mozambique, Vodacom Group and Vodafone
• Ensuring compliance with governance, international accounting standards, taxation and treasury policies of the Vodacom Group and Vodafone
• Providing guidance and understanding the revenue recognition criteria in terms of International Accounting Standards and Vodafone policies
• Management and understanding of the financial control systems and functions
• Financial Analysis, Costing Calculations and Business Plans / Modelling for new product development
• Monthly Forecasting, Annual Budgeting and 5 Year Forecasts projections
• Assisting with the preparation of Board reports, monthly management accounts, various presentations and trend analysis
• Liaise with internal and external Auditors, Company Bankers as well as local authorities (Central Bank, Ministry of Finance, and Taxation Authority)
• Capital expenditure reporting and forecasting
• axation, Deferred taxation and IVA calculations

Requisites

• Problem solving and analysis ability. This is a key requirement for both Financial Planning and Commercial Finance
• Planning and organising skills
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal (English and Portuguese)
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (advanced Excel skills are required for this position)
• Time Management. Must be able to work under pressure and manage multiple projects at a time (workload increases significantly during forecasting periods)
• Interpersonal skills required to work with employees at all levels in the rest of the business
• Excellent Communication skills. The role will require good report writing skills and might require some presentations to be made
• Facilitation skills
• Knowledge of accounting
• Minimum undergraduate degree in commerce or accounting
• Experience in a similar role within a big company
• Experience in the mobile telecommunications sector would be considered a valuable asset
• An acceptable combination of academic qualifications and work experience may be considered in lieu of minimum requirements
