Twigg Exploration & Mining, LDA is recruiting a Mechanical Engineer, to be based in Balama - Cabo Delgado, Mozambique.
Duties
- Assist in the development and management of an internal audit program for the Maintenance Engineering Team’s work
- Develop and manage continuous improvement projects within the Maintenance Engineering Team within your field
- Contribute to the monthly and quarterly reporting of continuous improvement projects
- Provide technical improvement advice and support to the Operations Teams as required
- Actively seek out ways to improve the throughput of the Balama Process Plant
- Contribute to and help develop quality and accurate Planned Shutdowns
- Assist in the management and implementation of the Planned Shutdown Ensure safe, timely and reliable execution of shutdown Project work
- Develop and manage cost saving initiatives that ensure increased availability and output for the Balama Operation
- Work together with your team to maintain a strong safety culture within the Maintenance Engineering Department and Balama Operations Team
- Report all incidents, health anomalies and workplace health hazards via Incident and Hazard Reporting procedures
- Undertake daily work area inspections and report/rectify faults/issues immediately
- Continually monitor the plant environment to ensure the continuous safety of yourself and other workers
- Make improvement recommendations to the Senior Team & continually increase the level of safety in the plant and other associated facilities
- Ensure efficient and safe execution and control of Maintenance Engineering projects work for the Balama processing operation
- Work closely with the Senior Maintenance Engineer to achieve the KPIs for plant availability and costs
- Help to develop, implement and maintain the maintenance strategy for the processing facility to achieve the KPIs and Company objectives
- Contribute to the development of the preventative asset and maintenance strategy in line with company objectives
- Provide ongoing reporting and data analysis in relation to the condition of the processing facility projects
- Contribute to the monthly, quarterly and yearly maintenance, production and projects planning process
- Actively contribute to the budgeting process as a part of the Maintenance Engineering Team in relation to Project work, parts, consumables and engineering costs
- Assist in the development of quality control policies and procedures for the Balama Maintenance Engineering Team
- Assist in the management and implementation of these quality control methods
Requisites
- Tertiary qualification in a Mechanical Engineering discipline
- More than 05 years maintenance engineering experience in mineral processing/heavy industry Flotation/Milling/Filtration experience highly desirable
- Demonstrated knowledge of Pumps and pump curves. Piping design desirable
- Ability to read and understand Isometric and Engineering Drawings
- Experience in developing and implementing Process Improvement projects an advantage
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing preventative & shutdown maintenance strategies in a processing environment
- Proven exposure to maintenance systems and processes – Pronto experience highly desirable
- Demonstrated organisational skills and ability to prioritise multiple tasks and deadlines
- Proactiveness and proven capacity to think conceptually and make assertive decisions
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cohesively with team members
- Plant start-up and commissioning experience highly desirable
- Sound computer proficiency with intermediate MS Office skills Technical Drawing software experience desirable
- Contractor management experience highly desirable
