Mine Services Maintenance Superintendent

Twigg Exploration & Mining, LDA is recruiting a Mine Services Maintenance Superintendent, to be based in Balama, Mozambique.

Duties

• Leading & developing the Mine Services Maintenance team in such a way that promotes cooperation and commitment from all people in the achievement of the Company’s objectives and their own personal development
• Identifying the appropriate skills, competencies and experience required within various areas, and implement strategies to address any gaps
• Driving a culture of regular coaching and mentoring with direct reports through facilitation of regular meetings and one-on-one engagement
• Managing & coordinating the Mine Services Maintenance planning team to ensure project targets are achieved safely, efficiently and to specification without compromising the long term integrity of the business plan or the facilities
• Ensuring all reports are prepared in accordance with site standards, statutory requirements and are delivered on time
• Contributing to regular site planning meetings that provide focus on achieving plans and driving performance
• Assisting in the development & implementation of the capital and operating budgets
• Managing Capital Expenditure Approval (CEA) submissions and the Contract Management System (CMS)
• Assisting in the continual development and implementation of the Company’s Health, Safety & Environment management systems
• Driving a safe and incident free workplace by ensuring compliance with company policies and statutory legislation

Requisites

• Tertiary qualifications in Maintenance Management and/or Electrical or Mechanical trade qualifications (essential)
• High Voltage Electrical Switching Operator certification (essential), and experience in the operation and maintenance of Power Stations and HV Networks
• Current Electrical Licence (desirable)
• Significant experience in Maintenance leadership roles within the extractive industries
• Proven ability to develop and lead teams, work autonomously and be a subject matter expert who can operate in a cross functional capacity
• Diploma in Frontline Management (desirable)
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (essential) and Pronto (desirable)
• High degree of cultural awareness
• Fluency in both Portuguese and English
