Monitoring and Evaluation Director (m/f)

Description

• iDE works with small farmers in the production and marketing of their crops, ensuring that they increase their income in a sustainable manner and obtain the return on investment in technology, thus contributing to local economic development, leveraging local businesses as well as the agricultural sector in particular. The position is be based in Maputo but with frequent in-country field trips mainly in Beira corridor
• iDE Mozambique is looking for an M&E Director with at least 7 years of experience in M&E in agricultural development projects, strong qualitative and quantitative data analysis skills and knowledge of Market Systems Development approach. Business development skills will be an added value

Duties

• Responsible for the M&E department and staff
• Manage all data collection activities in all the iDE projects geographic target areas
• Responsible for all the aspects related to electronic monitoring tools
• Actively participate in ensuring quality and timeliness of data collected
• Responsible for donors data report and member of the Senior managers team responsible for final full narrative report to donors
• Support Communication department for success stories
• Member of the Kiva Steering Committee for loans’ approval
• Guide the team on Market Systems Development approach
• Represent iDE at events and be able to clearly communicate the organization’s approach and goals
• Lead baseline studies, mid-term assessments and impact evaluations
• Train staff on all aspects related to M&E
• Contribute to iDE’s Senior Management team: reports and BD

Requisites

• Master’s degree in Agronomy, Economics, Computer Technology or related areas
• Ability to work under pressure and independently
• Availability to spend extended amount of time in remote areas
• Minimum 7 years work experience in M&E for agricultural development projects
• Full knowledge of at least one data analysis software
• Ability to trace and detail his/her methodological approach
• Fluency in Portuguese and English, knowledge of a local language is an advantage
