PSI is recruiting a New Technology Development Officer (m/f), to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.
Duties
- Manage all electronic devices and equipment and ensure its full operation for field activities
- Ensure the devices and systems provide accurate programming information on a timely basis to support management decision making
- Develop new systems to meet emerging organizational needs
- Provide technical expertise and recommendations in assessing new IT software projects and initiatives to support and enhance existing systems
- Provide assistance in identifying the best technologies to be used in accomplishing various tasks in line with organizational/programmatic goals
- Identify modifications needed in existing applications to meet changing user requirements
- Data base management ensuring that all databases are formatted efficiently to talk to MIS systems
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) documents for electronic equipment use, systems and programs
- Analyze and document day to day operations of users at a programing level as well as system level
- Advise on loopholes and assist in recommending optimal modes of operation
- Write detailed SOPs based on observations and findings
- Liaise with field team (health promoters and nurses) on PSI’s system related issues
- Meet with field team (IPC supervisors, promoters and nurses) to come up with most efficient and cost-effective services and acquisition of system resources
- Structure and organize trainings for PSI staff and partners on how to use the app
- Develop training manuals and documents
- Lead training activities for PSI staff and partner
Requisites
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or similar field
- Five years working experience in a relevant IT environment with extensive technical knowledge
- Substantial exposure to Health Systems Environment
- Understanding of complex information and requirements
- Strong leadership, strategic thinking and analytical skills
- Excellent writing and presentation skills
- Fluency or strong working knowledge of oral and written Portuguese and English
- Ability to disseminate messages to different types of audiences
- Good planning and organization Skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
