Khulisa is recruiting an Operations Manager (m/f), to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.
Description
- Khulisa seeks a qualified and experienced Operations Manager for the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Service Activity in Maputo, Mozambique
- Knowledge of USAID’s or other United States Government agency’s policies and procedures in regards to human resources, financial management, financial reporting, procurement processes systems, and grants management is preferred
- Full-Time USAID project: Operations Manager
Duties
- Managing all operations including but not limited to administration, logistics, human resources, procurement, budgeting, finance, and property
- Ensuring that program implementation is in accordance with USAID regulations and procedures and the specifications determined in the contract
- Supervising day-to-day field presence in the areas of operations, administration logistics, procurement, budgeting, and financial accounting
- Managing staff in coordination with the Chief of Party
- Supervising the daily financial operations, which include cash flow management, timesheet recording, reporting to the Chief of Party (COP) on the financial aspects of the project, and daily monitoring of obligations, budgets, and expenditures
- Coordinating with Home Office on all compliance issues, seeking legal and policy guidance, and completing applicable reports and planning documents
- While not directly responsible for overseeing activity development, the Operations Manager will be expected to have a good grasp of programmatic elements
Requisites
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Human Resources, or another related field. A graduate degree is an advantage
- A minimum of five years of relevant work experience, including at least three years supervising people and projects
- Financial management experience, including budgeting, financial management (tracking, reporting, and accounting), and procurement is required
- A proven record of management, decision‐making, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage staff
- Experience working in Mozambique required
- Fluency in Portuguese and proficiency in English required
- A safety and security training certification highly desirable
- Knowledge of USAID’s or other United States Government agency’s policies and procedures in regards to human resources, financial management, financial reporting, procurement processes systems, and grants management is desirable
