- Aldelia is recruiting a Permit Coordinator, to be based in the north region, in Mozambique
- Role purpose: The Permit Coordinator is responsible for safely and efficiently carrying out all their assigned Permitting and Isolations work in the Process Plant, both scheduled and unscheduled. Ensuring the highest of standards of Isolations and Permits are consistently met
- Time management: The major component of this role is the planning of Isolations and Permit to Work for Process Plant personnel. It’s important to have a strong understanding of the Isolation & Tagging Procedures and a thorough understanding of the Permit to Work system. Maintenance of the isolation and tagging equipment, stock level control, auditing of isolations and permits as well as continual improvement of the Isolation Statements to cover all Process and Maintenance tasks is vital
Duties
- Ensure safe, on time and reliable execution of all Permit and Isolations work
- Be prepared to supervise maintenance, processing, and electrical personnel as required, as part of your needs to get any Permits or Isolations completed safely and efficiently
- Work together with THE Processing, Maintenance and Infrastructure teams to maintain a strong safety culture within the Operations Department
- Report all incidents, health anomalies and workplace health hazards via the approved Incident and Hazard Reporting procedures
- Continually monitor the plant environment to ensure the safety of yourself and other workers
- Attend and actively participate in Safety Meetings
- Make improvement recommendations to the Maintenance Supervisor & continually increase the level of safety in the plant and other associated facilities
- Comply with the Company’s Environmental Social Monitoring Program Management Plan and Health Safety Management Plan requirements at all times
- Processing plant:
- Ensure the safe and efficient execution of Permitting and Isolations work for the processing operations
- Respond to breakdown Isolation requirements in a timely manner
- Complete all Permit to Work planning activities in time for shutdown commencement
- Attend all shutdown planning meetings, develop shutdown Isolation Plan
- Work closely with the Training Superintendent to maintain an up to date database of all Isolation Officer, Permit Officer, Lock Holder, Permits issuer competencies
- Provide technical advice and support to the Senior Team as required
- Attend and participate in all training provided by the company, both mandatory and elective
- Maintain an up to date knowledge of worlds current best practice in regard to Isolations, Tagging, Lockouts, and Permits
- Use PPE and other maintenance consumables effectively to reduce the overall cost of the Maintenance Department
Requisites
- Electrical Trade Qualification, Processing Engineering or Process Plant leader
- 5+ years’ experience with Isolation Systems in a mineral processing/heavy industry
- Flotation/Milling/Filtration experience highly desirable. HV experience an advantage
- Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cohesively with team members
- Plant start-up and commissioning experience highly desirable
- Sound computer proficiency with intermediate MS Office skills
- Demonstrated ability with HV, LV switching procedures
- Demonstrated ability to read engineering/electrical drawings
