Process Supervisor

Twigg Exploration & Mining, LDA is recruiting a Process Supervisor, to be based in Balama - Cabo Delgado, Mozambique.

Duties

• Coordinate the execution of day-to-day process activities ensuring clear and concise instructions are articulated to Process Technicians and team members
• Lead the processing team ensuring that all work and tasks are conducted in a safe manner, and that work practices minimize the risk of injury or damage to people, plant and equipment
• Supervise activities across multiple processing areas including crushing, milling & grinding, flotation, filtering, drying, services, re-agents and the control roo
• Continually monitor the operation of plant and equipment ensuring tasks are carried out in alignment with approved work scope and to highest quality and standard
• Ensure team members are conducting take 5 and job hazard analysis assessments on work activities as required
• Ensure own and others fitness for work at all times and report non-compliance as soon as practicable
• Maintain a consistent presence across work areas to ensure visual leadership is demonstrated at all times
• Provide ongoing technical support to site personnel
• Ensure team members are undertaking daily work area inspections and report faults/issues to Process Superintendent immediately
• Facilitate daily pre-start meetings and toolbox sessions as required
• Conduct Field Interactions with all team members on a weekly basis
• Ensure all relevant handover notes, log sheets and required paperwork is completed in an accurate, consistent and timely manner
• Contribute to the development of Safe Work Instructions (SWI’s) for the processing facility
• Review SWI’s on a daily basis prior to the applicable tasks being undertaken and ensure they are followed accordingly
• Ensuring production activities are aligned with daily/weekly production plans at all times
• Report all maintenance issues to Process Superintendent as soon as practicable to rectify in a timely manner
• Actively pursue process related training opportunities in line with defined Processing Competency Profile
• Undertake performance management/disciplinary actions in collaboration with site supervision and the HR Department

Requisites

• Minimum 3 year experience in a supervisory position within a processing environment
• Demonstrated alignment with the Processing Competency Profile
• Strong understanding of mineral processing and proven ability to lead and coordinate process teams
• Exposure to Graphite processing highly desirable
• Current drivers license and fork lift ticket essential
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels of the organization
• Strong adherence to production targets, procedures and compliance
• Proven exposure to and use of safe systems of work – e.g. risk management, incident reporting
• Sound Portuguese literacy skills – verbal and written
• Established English literacy skills
• Ability to communicate clear, concise instructions to large teams
• Basic computer proficiency
• Ability to work in a team environment and share information as required
