Twigg is recruiting a Procurement Officer (m/f), to be based in Balama, Mozambique.
Duties
- Receives internal needs and requirements for products (goods and services) and ensures that there is a clear specification and detailed outline of what is needed
- Complies a request for quote or pricing from suppliers, receives pricing and proposes the best possible proposal and presents to immediate superior for approval
- With the use of Pronto, raises the purchase requisition, makes follow-up for approvals in the system and issues the Purchase Order, (PO) to the respective suppliers. Ensures the proper processing of assigned purchase orders
- Ensures that suppliers receive the PO and records confirmation of receipt, follow-up on delivery and assists stores-person in issuing Good receipts
- Controls the PR to PO conversation rates as well as the GR to IR (Invoice receipt) processing in the system (pronto)
- Works hand-in hand with stores-persons in creating GR as well as finance team in making sure that PO/GR/Invoice match (purchase to pay) making sure that all documentation issued is valid and as per legislative requirements (invoices) meeting the company’s accounts payable procedure
- Reviews and maintain supplier database files (requirements of all suppliers as per company’s procedure – ABC, invoicing process)
- Ensures the proper management of procurement department operations in the absence of the Head of department:
- Carries out all necessary procurement activities
- Executes duties in a cost consciousness manner, influencing that suppliers do work as per company’s payment terms
- Leads and guides other lower level colleagues, make sure that they have training to meet the assigned tasks, mush show good levels of team leadership and excellent communication skills
- Demonstrates knowledge of HSE (health and safety Environment) procedures and applies them when carrying out procurement related activities
- Execution of any other tasks assigned by any superior or colleague making sure that the respective policies and procedures are being followed
Requisites
- Bachelor’s degree or any other recognizable level of tertiary education in supply-chain, finance or business related
- Knowledge of international Anti –Bribery and corruption Policies (FCPA 1977)
- Plus 3 years of experience in the mining or oil and gas industry
- Highly computer efficient including excellent MS excel skills
- Knowledge of PTP systems and related software (SAP, PRONTO) will be added advantage
- Mozambican commercial law and import regulations
