Johanniter International Assistance is recruiting a Program Assistant (m/f), to be based in Pemba, Mozambique.
Description
  • Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe e.V. is a German non-governmental organization, dedicated to excellence in the field of first aid, ambulance service, social service programs and other projects in the medical and social field. The Federal Headquarters (HQ) are based in Berlin, Germany. Johanniter International Assistance is the operational unit for humanitarian aid, development co-operation and emergency relief, implementing and supporting projects in Health, Nutrition, WASH as well as Food Security & Income Generation worldwide.   • The Program Assistant is a National staff position within Johanniter International Assistance in Mozambique. The overall objective of the position is to support high quality Program Management for the Johanniter country program in Mozambique, ensuring quality is in line with internal Johanniter, donor and stakeholder standards, and to support Johanniter’s partner organizations with the same
Duties
  • Support project design through information gathering (with communities, partner organisations and key stakeholders), and contribute to proposal writing
  • Support Monitoring Evaluation and Learning through indicator and results tracking, follow up on pop-ulations reached and activity progress
  • Assist with the preparation of status and progress reports by providing information, such as financial and other input
  • Prepare info graphs and process data as required
  • Support the implementation of humanitarian needs assessments, through planning, training of enu-merators, data collection and analysis
  • Provide administrative support to program implementation
  • Write weekly reports on activity progress and field activities
  • Verify performance vs work plans and set objectives
  • Contribute to donor reporting
  • Provide support to partner organizations in carrying out assessments, activity follow-up and report-ing
  • Liaise effectively with all other departments within Johanniter in order to contribute to effective flow of information
  • Summarize information reflecting current budget obligations and future programme and budgetary implications
  • Draft correspondence on routine matters including minutes, summary note and notes for meeting
  • Arrange all programme appointments and maintains programme and projects background infor-mation, calendar, correspondences and facilitates follow-up actions and deadlines
  • Contribute to a motivated, effective and organized working environment
Requisites
  • Degree in social/political sciences, humanitarian or development studies or any other related field OR
  • At least 2 years of work experience in a similar position
  • Knowledge of Kobo or other social data collection methods
  • Knowledge of project cycle
  • Knowledge of humanitarian principles, core humanitarian standards and gender age and inclusion standards
  • First working experience within the humanitarian/development sector
  • High proficiency in and Portuguese (written and spoken)
  • Working proficiency in English (written and spoken)
  • Good writing skills
  • Strong social skills, effective and result oriented style of work
  • Independent and team player
  • Ambitious to learn and grow professionally
